I wanna take you to a...

I Göteborg.

In other news...

I am King.

Fuck me.

Nu skall jag sova. En massa. God natt (motsv).

Weeeeee!

A vind av change

My life has entered a completely new episode, and with that comes many changes. And this blog will change with me. At least now you have a good reason to learn swedish.

An alpha and an omega

I won't be writing much about games anymore on this blog. Why, you might ask, concidering that games are such a significant part of my human life. Well, this is the reason. This blog will now be restricted to my thoughts on current events and ocasionally major happenings in my immediate surroundings. Like the one about me going back to the cursed military after a week of freedom in order to go out in the woods again, this time for eight nights. But it's only 52 days left now. 52...

Right to copy

The piracy Party has succeeded in registering itself as a political party by collecting the needed 1500 signatures from around the country. The actual count is over 2000. The party is getting more and more attention and hopefully they will get enough votes in the election later this year to get into the parliment. I'm thinkning about voting for them myself... the questions about integrity, copyright and patents are the ones I care the most about, and I would really like to see them brought forward, too many has accepted the way we are violated by the way we are supervised by all kinds of authorities. The whole patent-system is also directly un-good, hindering the distribution of medecine in third-world countries.

But the companies make more money this way! W00t!

Oh, and regarding that last post, did it sound like I dislike Islamic people? Of course I do not. I dislike extremists (of any kind) that giver large, nice groups of people a bad reputation. It's happening on both sides right now.

Jihad!

Now that is something that really sucks donkey balls. Not just because it involves killing a whole lot of innocent people and saying "I am allowed to because Mohammad did so. Besides, it was in the name of God and all that is good", it also sucks because people can't publish some cartoons in a white, western, Christian country, meaning no harm, without getting threatened to death by some Islamic extremists, thereby putting a huge shadow over the entire religion, marking all of the followers with a "suicidal maniac"-sign right across the chest, bringing more fear and hate from people from afar and making everything bigger and worse than it ever should have, or would have had to be.
Now this western country apologizes for upsetting so many über-sensitive (almost more sensitive than US on nudity and foul language) people, and they get the loving response of burning the country's flag and prime minister and boycotting products from the country, putting thoughtful, caring, family-supporting humans who hasn't drawn a single Mohammad-picture in they're lives out of work.
Well, you've got to work hard to stay as the world's most beloved religion.

Blank

I don't have anything to write. I want to write about what I think, not just what I do, but right now, that's almost impossible. The short moments I have contact with the real world is not quite enough. I guess I'll have to chill with writing for some time, unless I come up with something really good to write about.

While waiting you can always buy and play Grim Fandango, one of the greatest games of all time, if not the greatest. It's hard to describe, but this game is so fantastic, you are not a whole person until you've completed it. Go now.

A short break

I made it! I got back alive! I managed to keep myself going for the entire massive period of seven days in field. Six nights in a tent in a forest. During a few of the night the temperature was a cozy -20 degrees celcius. And during those nights I had to get up and act sentry several times. I love it.

Once, when sitting in a tent I really didn't have anything to do, so I wrote down some words. I did the same thing later, in my armoured terrain vehicle, and here they are:

"Click" my Ak5 said when I squeezed the trigger. I guess it's still working. I'm
not freezing right now, but my fingers are a bit cold here in the tent. What am
I doing here? What's a calm and relaxed games doing in the field, dressed in a
green uniform and boots, carrying a weapon? Why does a guy who loves to sleep
get up at half past five to put on a body armor, combat vest, and a helmet? What
am I doing here?

Jan 22
Sunday. Heard pieces of a service on the radio in my terrain vehicle. I
havn't been to church for quite some time now. I miss it. Only one night left
though. Tomorrow I'm finally going home. Well, not home but back to a place
where I can sleep in a real bed, where I can shower and watch TV. And where I
can order pizza... Anyway, we're in the middle of a big MOUT-operation. MOUT -
Military Operations in Urban Terrain - Is kind of cool. Pretty many people get
hurt though, so I and my fellow medic crew are assisting X-ray companyin
supporting the fighting companies. So far we've only taken care of one injured,
an enemy soldier. don't mind doing this though, I finally get to practice
what I've trained. The prvious six dayd all I've done is helping the food and
supply groups in my plutoon, realocating our camp and carrying stuff forth and
back. It seriously sucked.

Only two and a helf months left now. Please speed up time, let the real
life begin...

Only two times left in the field now though. One for eight days, and one for ten. ... I think I'll make it, but it sure will be harsh. Keep the date 12:th of april in mind, for that is the day the angels will sing and flowers bloom, and I will be free.

In other news... hmm. There are no other news. The military is all I do right now. It's all I say and eat, it's how I walk and what I do. I don't really have a life right now. I'm not sad about it, I am after all doing something that I probably will look back at with some sort of satisfaction, but it would be nice to be able to talk to people at home about things that does not include green clothes. You kind of get cut off from the outer would, more or less. When in field you seriously get cut off, I managed to get hold of a few newspapers, but other than that I really don't know much about what's happening out there. Bear that in mind if you wish to get in. Eleven months...

This is the hour of DOOM!

I completely love that word. DOOM. Capital letters. Try saying it with as much power as you can, really exploding on the D, gathering strength to float on the OO and finally breathing out on the M. DOOOM! Hehe.

Unfortunately, this is actually the hour of DOOM. This is the last hour on my computer before I leave once more. Back to the cold and the very early mornings, the weapons and the heavy gear, the running and the push-upping. Back to the lack of sleep and good food, back to the snow and the mud.

Please, make these last three months go quickly. Very quickly. The graduation is within range.

However, there is one good side to it after all. Right now I'm checking the internets every day, or several times a day. Things seem to progress so very slowly. Like the site of the Pirate Party, that I mentioned, and also the whole organization around it. When I get back the next time, in three weeks, a lot of stuff is bound to have happened. And I'll be reading updated webcomics until my eyes bleed. I think I'm going to have to isolate myself that entire weekend in fact.

In other news I bought StarCraft. Teh ownage. I'm up for a mp match anytime. When I'm home that is.

A wind of change is blowing

And in that wind waves the pirate flag.
What I'm talking about is the newly formed Piracy Party here in Sweden. Speaking for a radical change of the political system and aiming at getting enough votes to be in the Swedish parliment, this is a party I like. There's no doubt about it, removing all the immaterial laws will bring great changes. But don't think this will happen over night, as the impression might be, it will of course be a slow change for the better, assuming everything goes as planned.
Another important question is privacy. There will, among other things, not exist any kind of data gathering, or recording of internet traffic and such. Today we're almost heading in the direction of a society where no anonymous communication is allowed to exist. This cannot be allowed to happen.
The party is still very fresh, so please, don't expect everything to be like one of the established parties just yet. It will take some time, but after a while, I think people will realize that this is serious.
I'll be voting for the first time later this year... maybe they'll get my vote. It's definitely possible.
Right now about 1 million of the Swedish population are criminals due to downloading warez from the internets. These laws have been passed during quite undemocratic circumstances. Now here's a democratic way to do change stuff, and I believe many will use this way.
Here is info from
other sites.
And from other blogs. In Swedish though.

Bip and click

I thought I'd say a few words about music today.

I have 0 mp3-files on my computer. Wait, that's not entirely correct, let me rephrase. I have very few mp3-files on my computer that I ever listen to. I am since a while ago entirely devoted to webradio. Free, fast and you never really know what you're gonna get. The sites I use are Kohina, glorious bitpop and oldschool music; Digitally Imported, all kinds of electronic music, dance, chill or otherwise, something for everyone, and finally the Swedish Radio, which features many good music shows, especially late at night. It's also generally chill to listen to. Ocationally I go to some webradio-collection site and select a jazz channel or something, just to get some variation. But it doesn't last long.

I know people who has got so many mp3-files on theis disks they need support columns to prevent their harddisks from falling through the bottom of the computer case. They're that heavy. And so when I buy my own computer (another day of joy to look forward to) I'm going to keep minimizing the amount of mp3s, unless I buy some seriously large hdd:s, which I probably will... But I shall try to stay clean! It's a tough fight to fight on you own, but I will make it! I shall repent!

Merry!

The lan was good. I survived. Nuff said about that.

You might have noticed the new link buttons to the right. I think they turned out quite alright.

Christmas is tomorrow. I can't believe it. Where did all the waiting and anticipation go? Now don't act like some dull adult and go all "that's what happens when you get older", cause I do not want it to be like this. It spoils the whole month. So very many thing makes me wish I could be a little child again. A child in the summertime. Or even an adult in the summer. I wrote last spring that the previous winter had been the worst in my life. I think I'm about to experience something slightly worse in two weeks...

But let's not talk about stuff like that. This is the season of joy, isn't it?

Isn't it?

Hey?

screens and games

I'm a bit tired actually... And Iv'e been drinking quite a lot of cider and eaten a fair amount of junk food, and so I don't feel that great really. But it's nice to be here still. Played WoW since I got here. Downloaded Stubbs the Zombie, but the crappy game wouldn't work. Hmpf. I think I'll get back to leveling now... only 1 lvl left before I can use my latest spellbook.

Always something to look forward to.

Short notice

So this friend of mine calls me.
-There is a LAN-party coming up!
-Alright! I think.
-It's in a couple of hours.
-Oh... Well... I'll do it anyway!
-Sry my bad, it's in one hour.
-Holy... Well to hell with sense! I'll join in!

And so there is a guy coming to pick me up momentarily. His name is Damir Mahmutovic fyi.

Ah, it's going to be such an enormous joy to be at a lan again. I've really missed it. When I get my own place, my own life and my own computer I will be a frequent visitor of dreamhack, the worlds largest lan-party ever. Only been there once, but believe me, it's worth the money! The best thing about it is not the games. It's not the file sharing or the pron. It's not the competitions or even the general (and much lovable) mood. And it's not the people either. The great and wondrous thing about dreamhack, or any lan for that matter, is sitting on a chair for days and days, not doing anything relevant what so ever. A true rest for the mind.

Chrustmas time

Aah, finally at home again. Just spent a week in the field, in the rain, in the mud and in the cold. I actually thought the nights would be worse... but it was pretty cozy to sleep in a warm tent. Unfortunately I had to get up several times during the night in order to stand sentry or fuel the fire. Sleeping is not to be expected. Especially not if almost 10 people have called in sick so that everything takes more time, and needs more work. Like setting up a camp in the dark. The damned darkness. Clearly a worse problem than the cold.

But now it's only a week left before CHRISTMAS! Yahooo! And then it's only three months left... and then... freedom.
